Yixin Tower

Yixin Tower was built in the 34th year of the Guangxu reign. It was a guesthouse owned by Xu Changzhi (also known as Xu Yunxin), a famous tea merchant in the southern region of the Yangtze River during that time. The entire building is adorned with exquisite golden paintings, radiating a brilliant glow. This is a remarkable sight among the ancient buildings of Huizhou, which typically exhibits a more understated style. As the original owner conducted business in the northern region, they introduced the local tradition of colorful paintings to Wuyuan. Notably, the front hall of Yixin Tower showcases a rare caisson ceiling structure, a feature uncommon in residential buildings. Additionally, the upper floor has been transformed into a traditional Huizhou folk wedding room, adding to the cultural significance of the tower.
