Shuhe Hall

“Shuhe Hall” is an official hall, served as a prestigious venue for ceremonies and entertaining guests in Huizhou. In the village, individuals who held official positions outside would often return to their hometowns to construct official halls, showcasing their elevated status and serving ceremonial purposes. Built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, Shuhe Hall boasts a two-story structure with a roof canopy, exuding grandeur and emphasizing the owners esteemed position. Cao Mingyuan, the owner of Shuhe Hall, achieved success in the imperial examination in the 16th year of the Chongzhen era (1643) and subsequently served as the magistrate of Linchuan in Fuzhou Prefecture.
